Break the Code! Use your skills to set a code or to decipher your adversary's secret combination. Play against the computer or a friend.

ONE PLAYER:

You may use any combination of 8 colors and/or a blank. The computer will set up a secret code for you to break. It will use black Key Pegs and white Key Pegs to give you clues as to whether or not your color selection for each row is right. The black Key Pegs indicate that you have chosen the right color in the right code slot, and the white Key Pegs indicate that you have chosen the right color but in the wrong code slot. A blank key slot means that both the color and the location are wrong.

When Random Key Pegs is off, the Key Pegs correspond to the exact slot location of each color or blank in the row. For example, if your third color is correct you will see a black Key Peg in the corresponding third slot. If the color is right but in the wrong place, you will see a white Key Peg in the third slot. If both the color and location are wrong, you will see a blank slot.

When Random Key Pegs is on, the same rules apply except that the Key Pegs are randomly placed.

TWO PLAYER:

The game is the same as ONE PLAYER, except that you and a friend take turn selecting the code to break. The computer will handle all Key Pegs. When you have finished playing (after breaking the code or making all attempts, whichever comes first), then it is your turn to select a secret code and your friend must try to solve it. The winner is the player with the least number of rows used.
